The Saskatchewan Health Coalition was established in 1981. We have a broad-based membership representing diverse
organizations and individuals.
Our Goal:
To advocate and engage the public in promoting a strong and better health care system. We support a publicly funded healthcare system that is based on the five principles of the Canada Health Act: Portability, Accessibility, Comprehensiveness, Universality and Publicly Administered.
We support maintaining national standards as set out in our Canada Health Act.
We are affiliated with the Canadian Health Coalition.
Our priorities are to STOP for-profit healthcare in Saskatchewan and join other health coalitions and activists to promote public education and awareness. Ultimately, our priority and goal are to defend publicly funded and administered health care.
We need to hear from you. On Aug 22, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced that residents 18 and older would receive a $500 "affordability cheque" this fall. However, the pandemic has caused a strain in our healthcare system with healthcare professionals and workers demanding a better system and many households struggling to keep pace with high inflation.
